Claire
Claire Gattet studied modern dance at the Limon Institute and at the Merce Cunningham dance school in NY city. She also studied in Paris with Karin Waehner and in Lyon with Michel Hallet Eghayan and Kilina Cremona.
At the same time she was introduced to the notion of body performance and she trained for 7 years in Bordeaux with Jacques Garros and Jean Masse.
After performing with two companies, Pierre Deloche (Lyon) and Traction Avant (Vénissieux), she got the opportunity of staging a choregraphy by Arnie Zane with the dance company Bill T. Jones (NY city).
She soon created her own solo performances which mix theatrical plays, slide shows or integrate private homes. Since 1996 she has held a state degree for the teaching of modern dance and in 2000 she passed the diploma for musical studies which entitled her to teach music theory in secondary schools.
Since 1996 the study of the sign language has led her to work with children suffering from hearing problems and disphasia. And since 2004 with psychotic and schizophrenic adults and with others suffering from autism.
In 1999 she had the oportunity of fulfilling her dearest wish namely creating her own dance company Créa’Danse which is currently attended by both children and adults. In 2009 this young company went on stage abroad about 15 times.
